En Argentina, generaci\u00f3n distribuida se refiere a una iniciativa nacional que establece un marco regulatorio mediante ley 27.424 para que las personas puedan generar su propia energ\u00eda e inyectarla a la red. Este sistema es utilizado en hogares, comercios, industrias y pymes para generar energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica a partir de fuentes renovables y volcar el excedente a la red.<br \/>Para implementarlo las empresas distribuidoras de energ\u00eda deben aceptar la inyecci\u00f3n, fijar tarifas de compra de energ\u00eda e instalar medidores bidireccionales. Se busca lograr en la placa un fen\u00f3meno conocido como \u201cefecto fotovoltaico\u201d y como resultado del proceso obtenemos corriente continua a partir de la energ\u00eda del sol. Los paneles est\u00e1n formados por celdas (principalmente de silicio) interconectadas entre s\u00ed. En virtud de la clase de silicio que componen las c\u00e9lulas se obtienen distintos tipos. Est\u00e1n conformados por un conductor individual o alambre (no viene unido con otro) formado de cobre con esta\u00f1o para mejorar la conducci\u00f3n. Poseen doble capa aislante para resistir las inclemencias del clima y el da\u00f1o producido por los rayos UV. Com\u00fanmente se construyen en calibres de 12 AWG, 10 AWG Y 8 AWG.
